Delayed Salaries at Beirut Governmental Hospital: Employees Seek Intervention from Health Minister

The picture is expressive

The Beirut Governmental Hospital Employees Committee indicated in a statement, “A week after the end of October, we, as employees of the Beirut Governmental University Hospital, are still kindly waiting for our monthly salary, or at least, to be received with an explanatory statement from the administration regarding the reason for the delay or the date of payment of the due salary, despite We have approached the administration on behalf of the workers several days ago, trying to inquire about salaries, but to no avail. This comes at a time when all of Lebanon is preparing for any emergency that requires the readiness of medical teams. Instead of supporting the workers in the government hospital, we find the concerned administration forgetting its duty and turning a blind eye to their livelihood concerns. And the pressure placed on them, in the face of this reality that has been going on for some time, and to prevent matters from deteriorating further, we appeal to His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Firas Al-Abyad, to intervene and put an end to this disdain for the employee’s rights and to re-support and activate the largest government hospital in Lebanon, and we are all confident in his wisdom and good management to put things right and realize what is right. “.
