The Spanish-British law firm Del Canto Chambers, with headquarters in the British capital, in Qatar, Colombia and Madrid, has opened a new delegation in A Coruña, which is led by the veteran lawyer Maria Luisa Cid Castro. It already has its headquarters at number 42 on the central Emilia Pardo Bazán street, a few meters from the Superior Court of Xustiza de Galicia.
Cid Castro is a specialist in corporate law, public and private contracting. He graduated from ICADE and is a member of the Royal Galician Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation. His experience is extensive, both in private practice and in Public Administration.
«Del Canto Chambers Galicia, which is what our office in the Coruña capital is called, was born by a double circumstance. First, the personal. María Luisa Cid Castro has extensive experience and deep knowledge of the local Galician and international business sector. Not in vain has she worked as an advisor to Inditex for England and the United States “, she explains Leon Fernando del Canto, managing partner of Del Canto Chambers, a firm specialized in international law, tax and legal services.
«Second, the business one. The decision to have a physical office in Galicia is a consequence of both an expansion policy of our firm and the strength of the Galician Autonomous Community in the international market. It is the fifth Spanish autonomy in exports. And, specifically, the business sector from A Coruña, led by Inditex, which has a broad business ecosystem with an international dimension that requires adequate advice on tax matters and international law with experience, management capacity and the highest quality standards » adds Del Canto.
The sum of both synergies, according to the Zamorano “barrister”, raised in Jerez –but of Galician parents–, is today Del Canto Chambers Galicia, which comes to compete with the large national and international law firms in Galicia.
