Although the wind scared the organizers on Saturday morning, the wind finally subsided and the holiday could begin. The event was graced by the presence of parliament member Gábor Varga, Tiborné Zámbó from the district office and, of course, the mayoress of the settlement, Sándorné Gárdonyi, who opened the far-famed shallot festival, within the framework of which a small regional pensioners’ meeting was also held. Ilona Fodor, president of the Dégi Margaréta Pensioners’ Association, reported positive experiences.
– We won HUF 1,700,000 (NEA) for the implementation of the event, for which we are very grateful again. Everyone prepared enthusiastically to make everyone feel good, and we feel that we have achieved our goal – he began our conversation, and then went into the details:
– Preserving the traditions, the preschool children performed, the Tévő Citera Ensemble, the village and Seregélyes folk dance group, the Maráczi duo, who provided the music for the good lunch, as well as the pensioners from the small region: Ozora, Káloz, Simontornya, and of course Dég. Guest artists also added color to the show: Operett Voices Társulat, Adrián Farkas, Bebe. The wonderful works of the craftsmen were also visible. The women of the association made a bonfire for the children, and the male members made a stew, while a variety of delicacies were prepared for the cooking competition, one of the most important ingredients of which was the celebrated plant (scallions). We were able to spend a wildly beautiful day together, thank you to everyone who came! Ilona Fodor concluded her thoughts.
