The Chiefs-Jaguars games, in the American Conference (AFC), and Eagles-Giants, in the National Conference (NFC), will open the divisional round of the NFL playoffs next Saturday.
Rounding out the round on Sunday will be the Bills-Bengals matchups in the AFC, and the 49ers’ clash against the winner of this Monday’s game between Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC.
In the American Conference, the Buffalo Bills suffered this Sunday until the last period to eliminate the Miami Dolphinswhom they beat 34-31.
Quarterback Josh Allen was instrumental in the win despite allowing two interceptions. He finished the game with 352 yards. and three touchdown passes.
The Bills will host the AFC champion Cincinnati Bengals, who closed the activity this Sunday with their 24-17 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Last Saturday the Jacksonville Jaguars qualified in spectacular fashion. They did it with a historic comeback, the third-biggest in NFL playoff history by rising from 0-27 to win 31-30 over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Thanks to that result, Jacksonville will play in the next phase at the home of the Kansas City Chiefs, who finished in first place in the AFC.
In the National Conference this Sunday the New York Giants, sixth place, gave the surprise of the wild card round with their 31-24 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Now they will visit the Philadelphia Eagles, number one in the NFC.
Daniel Jones had an outstanding performance with the Giants; he passed for 301 yards and two scores. He also had a good Saquon Barkley game with two rushing touchdowns.
New York hadn’t won a playoff game since 2011, year in which they beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI.
Last Saturday the 49ers qualified by beating the Seattle Seahawks 41-23 with a great performance from their rookie quarterback Brock Purdy, who passed for 332 yards and got four touchdowns, three passing and one rushing.
