Defense veteran Hasebe extends at Eintracht Frankfurt – new contract until 2021

Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt will continue to play with defensive veteran Makoto Hasebe in the coming season. The 36-year-old Japanese extended his contract by one year until June 2021 and is supposed to stay with the Hesse after his active career as a brand ambassador, as the club announced on Friday evening. “Makoto has had an extraordinary career. Thanks to his great discipline and his highly professional attitude, he is still an important pillar of our team at 36,” said sporting director Fredi Bobic.

Hasebe moved to the Main metropolis in 2014 and previously also played for 1. FC Nürnberg and VfL Wolfsburg in Germany. With Eintracht, he won the DFB Cup in 2018 and reached the semi-finals of the Europa League in 2019. “We are glad that we will have him on our team in the coming season and that he will remain Eintracht’s brand ambassador beyond that”added former scorer Bobic.
