Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto shaking his head when recounting the accusation that he strangled Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) Harvick Hasnul Qolbi. Prabowo said he had often been slandered.
Prabowo conveyed this when speaking at a National Seminar with Professors, Chancellors and Scholars at the Bidakara Hotel, South Jakarta, Saturday (30/9/2023). Prabowo initially talked about the reasons he wanted to join President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) cabinet.
Prabowo said that at that time he was accused of being a traitor by some of his supporters. Prabowo emphasized that what he had been fighting for for a long time was still fighting for when he was in President Jokowi’s government.
“My struggle and what I wrote, what I fought for, tens of years ago, decades ago, is still consistent with what I am fighting for now,” said Prabowo.
He then talked about how he was often insulted and slandered. Prabowo then brought up the accusation that he strangled the Deputy Minister at a cabinet meeting.
“I have often been insulted, slandered, most recently I was said to have strangled a deputy minister, at another cabinet meeting,” said Prabowo, shaking his head.
“I’m not defending myself, but I want to convey to the people who say that I’m a traitor to joining Pak Jokowi, I just want to say, I’ve never changed. If my favorite song sounds, I’m still the same as before,” continued the presidential candidate from Gerindra. This.
