Defense construction is cutting down trees and building a road in Østmarka. – Illegal and totally undesirable, says the Urban Environment Agency.

In Østmarka, Forsvarsbygg is building a large and wide road. Hikers rage. The Norwegian Environmental Agency labels the measure as illegal.

On Friday morning, Steinar Saghaug (76) went for a walk by Lutvann in Østmarka. A little above the usual walking path around the water, he discovered something that shocked him.

– I became aware that a very wide and large road had been built in the forest. Then I was completely shocked. I thought, “What the hell is going on here?” says Saghaug to Aftenposten.
