Defense Attorney Denies Woman’s Involvement in Murder: More Interrogations Planned

The woman was questioned on Sunday evening, and defense attorney Erik Lea says the woman denies having anything to do with the murder.

– I was able to speak to her this afternoon, and spent almost four hours in questioning. She distances herself completely from this, she firmly claims that she has nothing to do with this, says Lea.

– She is tired, and this has been going on since early this morning.

He explains that she was first questioned as a witness, then he was not present. Since then, the status was changed to the charge, then he was contacted.

Lea goes on to say that there will probably be more interrogations on Monday, and then the prosecution will consider a prison meeting on Tuesday.

Found dead Sunday night

The police received the report at 04:06 on Sunday night. A man in his 60s was found dead at a private address in Ølensvåg in Vindafjord municipality.

Findings at the scene led to a woman in her 40s, whom the police have now arrested and charged.

The two are said to have had a familial relationship, but the police will not say anything about the course of events at this time.

It was the woman herself who called the emergency phone.

The man was found dead at a private address in Ølensvåg in Vindafjord.

– The accused denies that she has anything to do with the death. We do not wish to go further into her explanation. It is too early to say anything about the course of events. The place has been seized, says police attorney Christine Kleppa.

These fittings are, among other things, objects that may have been used as murder weapons, says Kleppa to NRK.

– But these items must be examined, says the police attorney.

The deceased lived at the address.

– More witness interviews

Biological samples have also been taken at the site. Several witness interviews have also been carried out, as well as questioning of the accused.

“Several witness interviews are underway, both in Stavanger and from Haugesund, and forensics technicians will work on the scene throughout the evening,” says Kleppa.

Ølensvåg is a village with around 1,000 inhabitants, according to the mayor. The village is located in Vindafjord municipality, in the north of Rogaland.

– Everybody knows everybody

Vindafjord municipality has called in a crisis team.

– Most people know everyone here. Ølensvåg is a village of just under 1,000 people, so this will leave its mark, that’s clear, says mayor Ole Johan Vierdal (Sp) to NRK.
