New commercial success for Airbus, in the field of defense! The Indonesian Ministry of Defense has ordered two Airbus A400M aircraft in a multi-role refueling and transport configuration. This contract, which will take effect in 2022, will bring the number of countries operating the A400M to ten. The agreement also provides for a full set of maintenance and training services. A letter of intent for a future acquisition of four additional A400Ms has also been signed.
“This new order strengthens the A400M’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region. The A400M offers Indonesia exceptional capabilities: it will provide its air forces with the ideal platform to transport heavy and bulky loads to remote areas and it will increase its aerial projection capabilities thanks to in-flight refueling capabilities, “said Michael Schoellhorn, CEO of Airbus Defense and Space.
