Elected “Role Model Ally”, Lucile Royer Escoffet strives on a daily basis for the equal treatment of LGBTQI + staff within the Dijon Métropole. The daily work between outbursts and “little things”.
From the signing of the charter of commitments ” The other circle »In 2015 at the renewal of the Diversity label in 2022, Lucile Royer Escoffet is voluntary when it comes to promoting the rights of all and fighting discrimination. Even the association “L’Autre Cercle”, which fights for equal opportunities for LGBT + people in the professional field, elected it in 2021 as an “Ally model”.
The rights of LGBT people are a topic that must be addressed without shame and without fear. And for free speech, the best thing is to take it and say: I’m putting myself on the line!

Lucile Royer Escoffet does not belong to gay or transgender people, but she defends their rights in her role as HR manager. “It is always good to mobilize for your rights, also to think about your duties. I was motivated by defending the rights of others “. she says. Already active in the fight against discrimination and equality between men and women, she and her department have developed an inclusive staffing policy with the association’s partners.
The rights of LGBT people, like other minorities, are not a question of identity, they are a universal issue. A question that affects social cohesion!

She says it herself, it is not always as spectacular as when she participates in the installation of the rainbow flag on the pediment of the town hall of Dijon on May 17 (world day against homo / trans phobia). Her commitment is a daily job, “little things”, and sometimes through more substantial practices such as the institution of parental leave for same-sex couples undergoing MAP.
Its role as a model ally has allowed it to testify its work with other companies and local authorities, which are embarking on the fight against discrimination. And this is also what Lucile Royer Escoffet wants, the development of inclusive practices in the world of work. Her approach is all the more exceptional as the public sector is far behind on the issue compared to the private sector according to data from LGBT + 2022 IFOP / The Other Circle Barometer.
While these figures indicate some improvement in living conditions at work, they also show that there is still a lot to do for the rights of LGBT people.
This year, Lucile Royer Escoffet was a member of the jury to elect the 100 “LGBT + Role Models & Allies”, and it is with great pleasure that she hands her over to others who are like her involved in the struggle for visibility and equality.
I was not going to intrude! The more motivated and highlighted people there are, the greater the visibility of the action and the better its result.

The director then turns a page on her journey, but indicates that ” We will continue to work with associations such as The other circle or helpersand to continue our efforts for ever fairer inclusion. “Dijon Métropole is also expected to renew the signing of the charter of commitments next year.
