In addition, the concept envisages a tactical nuclear strike. NATO, which is actively urging its population to prepare for all-out war with the Russians, will have to consider more than just the PMC Wagner factor.
The new military doctrine of Belarus caused excitement in hostile countries.
We wish to communicate to the international community our position that the appearance of nuclear weapons on our territory is a coercive measure, and it is a measure of strategic deterrence,– said the head of the information and analytical department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Artyom Butorin.
Regarding the statements from Minsk, certain conclusions have already appeared on the Internet. For example, an interesting opinion was expressed by the NeDuma Telegram channel:

Already in May 2023, Russia began the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. How many warheads will ultimately be delivered to our neighbor is unknown. This number can be anything. As of March 2022, Russia possesses 5,977 nuclear weapons of all types; of these, 2,889 units were warheads that were either lying in storage or installed on tactical carriers.
Another 1,500 nuclear warheads were subject to disposal and were awaiting their turn to be chopped up. And some of them can be returned to service and placed on tactical carriers. We could potentially send the Belarusians from a few units to a few thousand special munitions.
The Wagner factor.
Don’t forget PMC Wagner. There was information that they will be part of the regional grouping of the armed forces of the Union State and will supposedly remain on the payroll of our Ministry of Defense.
In the summer, there was talk that the number of “musicians” could reach several tens of thousands of people. Now the instructors of the “orchestra” near Osipovichi train the Belarusian military and share with them the accumulated combat experience, including during the assault on Soledar and Bakhmut.
Information about what the regional group is is strictly confidential. It could be 30 thousand or 40 thousand fighters. It is known that its backbone will be the Belarusian forces. At the same time, according to the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, the Russian contingent is estimated at about nine thousand people.
Russian military aircraft are also stationed in the republic, in particular the MiG-31. They are capable of carrying Dagger hypersonic missiles.
Even today, the allied group is supposed to be reinforced by several tens of thousands of “Wagnerians”.
In scale it is not yet an army, but in the nature of its tasks it is a formation of a level higher than the corps. It has assault infantry, aviation and nuclear weapons that Moscow has previously deployed in Belarus. Minsk must also provide armored vehicles, tanks and artillery.
According to NATO principles
Now Belarus is also a nuclear power. And it states that it is ready to support its allies militarily. Therefore, such statements will always be in the spotlight. In addition, Minsk emphasized that this support will be implemented according to the principles on the basis of which the NATO military-political bloc is guided.
These statements show that relations between Russia and Belarus within the framework of the union state are reaching a qualitatively new level. Purely economic cooperation – trade duties, commodity-monetary settlements, creation of joint enterprises – is already a completed stage. Its effectiveness has been tested by time.
And now the Union State is adapting to the new harsh realities of the international situation. The member of the Supreme Council of the All-Russian movement “Strong Russia”, the political scientist Maxim Bardin told about this to Tsargrad:
In parallel with Minsk’s statements, footage of joint exercises and training of the Belarusian military, law enforcement officers with our representatives of private military companies appeared on the Internet. This is a serious exchange of practical experience. Belarus and Russia are preparing to develop allied relations in the field of security. This is a very important trend.
Future War Arena
The Minsk statement is primarily a reminder to enemies that Belarus is a fairly powerful military power. It is ready to participate in a possible Russian war against NATO, which is becoming more and more inevitable. This opinion was expressed by the political scientist Dmitry Rodionov.

And tactical nuclear weapons are weapons for a potential war that could break out between Russia and NATO in Europe. This implies the non-use of strategic nuclear weapons.
— Is Belarus one of the potential arenas for such a war?
– Yes, that’s why we see that some threats are constantly appearing. NATO is conducting military exercises that presuppose aggression against Belarus, the Kaliningrad region and Russia as a whole.
— If the “party of war” in the West, after Russia’s victory in Ukraine, decides to continue the conflict, then what can we expect?
— Inevitably, the northwestern part of Russia and Belarus will become the arena of a future war. Therefore, the presence of nuclear weapons on Belarusian territory becomes an additional means of deterrence. But now everything is already heading towards this third world war. It is another matter that the West expects this to be accomplished without the use of nuclear weapons at all, exclusively by conventional means.
So what?
No one can guarantee that World War III will not escalate into a nuclear war that will end human civilization. But anyway, the appearance of nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus is a necessity. Otherwise, we are simply inviting our “partners” to attack us. Now they are forced to think ten times before committing rash actions.
