Duisburg – Defending champion VfL Wolfsburg has reached the third round of the women’s DFB Cup. The Bundesliga team won 3: 1 (2: 1) at the first division relegated MSV Duisburg.

Savanah Uveges surprisingly brought the outsiders into the lead in the 20th minute. But a double strike from Svenja Huth (43rd) and Lena Oberdorf (44th) turned the game. National player Huth increased five minutes before the end to 3: 1 (85th).

The Wolfsburg women continue to have an almost flawless record under their new coach Tommy Stroot. They also won their first three games of the season in the Bundesliga. In the Champions League, they moved into the group stage, which was held for the first time.
