Defending champion Milwaukee in NBA playoff before promotion

The Milwaukee Bucks have taken a third lead in their playoff series against the Boston Celtics. The defending champion of the North American basketball professional league NBA prevailed in Boston on Wednesday with 110:107 and is now 3:2 ahead. As early as Friday (1:30 a.m. on Saturday CEST) Milwaukee could make it into the finals of the Eastern Conference in their own hall – the third in the past four years.

For a long time it had looked like a home win for the Celtics. However, the record champion gave up a 14-point lead in the final quarter. Top scorer was Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo with 40 points. However, Jrue Holiday recorded the two decisive actions in the final seconds in defence. “I love him,” Antetokounmpo said of his teammate. A total of 60 points from his top players Jayson Tatum (34) and Jaylen Brown (26) were not enough for Boston.

The Golden State Warriors have to be patient with the rise. The Californians were defeated by the Memphis Grizzlies with 95:134. Memphis went 3-2 in the best of seven series even without their leader, Ja Morant, who injured his knee. In his absence, seven Grizzlies players scored double digits. Warriors star Stephen Curry didn’t get past 14 points. His team has the second chance to close the sack on Friday (4:00 a.m. on Saturday CEST) in San Francisco.

Wednesday’s NBA Playoff Results (Round 2/Conference Semifinals, “best of seven”):

Western Conference: Memphis Grizzlies – Golden State Warriors 134:95 (Stand in der Serie 2:3)

Eastern Conference: Boston Celtics – Milwaukee Bucks 107:110 (Stand 2:3)
