LONDON (AP) — Nuno Tavares has joined Marseille on a year-long loan from Arsenal, the Premier League side said Saturday.
The 22-year-old left-back had moved to Arsenal from Benfica last summer and made 28 appearances in all competitions for the north London outfit.
Tavares, who has played for Portugal’s under-21 team, would have had fewer opportunities at Arsenal this season. Kieran Tierney looks like the starter, and Oleksandr Sinchenko arrived, who also played as a left back with Manchester City.
Marseille qualified for the Champions League, finishing second in France behind Paris Saint-Germain in the 2021-22 season.
