Defender has undergone its first upgrade, offering a plug-in hybrid and new diesels

The new Land Rover Defender is presented in a slightly upgraded version for the 2021 model year, which will offer a new plug-in hybrid, a redesigned diesel range and a new trim level.

Probably the biggest innovation in the rejuvenated Land Rover Defender’s offer is the plug-in hybrid powertrain called P400e, which combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine P300 (221 kW / 300 hp) with a 105 kW electric motor and a 19.2 kWh battery.

The result is a combined power of 404 hp and 640 Nm of torque, making the plug-in hybrid Defender P400e the most powerful engine on offer. After all, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.4 seconds and its maximum speed reaches up to 209 km / h.

For those interested in a plug-in hybrid, however, it will probably be more important that with a full battery it can cover up to 43 kilometers in pure electric mode, its average consumption should be around 3.3 l / 100 km and emissions are 74 g CO2 per kilometer.
