Wolfsburg – The American national soccer player John Anthony Brooks will leave VfL Wolfsburg this summer after five years, the Bundesliga soccer club announced.

Both sides could not agree on an extension of the expiring contract. “I would like to thank those responsible at VfL Wolfsburg for the trusting discussions, but I have decided to take on a new challenge again,” said the 29-year-old defender. Brooks switched from Hertha BSC to Wolfsburg in 2017 for around 17 million euros. His dream has always been a move to the English Premier League.
