Defendant in Alleged 4G BTS Corruption Case Requests Unblocking of 24 Bank Accounts

Jakarta

The defendant in the alleged 4G BTS corruption case at the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), Johnny G Plate, requesting the unblocking of 24 bank accounts. This account is in the name of his wife, children and company.

“We submitted a letter requesting account unblocking for 24 accounts in the names of the defendant’s wife and children, as well as the defendant’s companies,” said Johnny’s legal team in a duplicate hearing at the Corruption Court, Central Jakarta, Monday (6/11/2023) .

The attorney assessed that this application was mentioned because in the trial it was not proven that there was a flow of money into the 24 accounts.

“We submitted an application for opening for the first reason, during this trial process it was never proven that there was a flow of money going into the account,” said Johnny’s attorney.

Apart from that, Johnny’s attorney said that the public prosecutor did not mention a number of accounts in the indictment. According to him, this blocking creates legal uncertainty.

“Then, next, the public prosecutor does not mention these accounts in the complaint. So for us, this creates legal uncertainty and violates our client’s civil rights,” he said.
