The 45-year-old, single, childless man starts by drinking beers with a friend before getting behind the wheel. Except that he hasn’t had a license for ten years. “I didn’t have time to iron it,” he says. On the road, he hit the rear view mirror of a vehicle leaving its parking lot. He does not stop, continues on his way. The other motorist follows him and calls the police. A patrol arrested the driver around 6 p.m. “And things will go wrong,” euphemizes the president of the court. The alcoholic driver (2.8 grams per liter of blood) rebels, insults, spits. In the cell, he bangs his head against the walls.
Forbidden to touch a steering wheel
“I did something stupid that day,” concedes the interested party, calmed down, neat goatee, short hair combed back. He promises that he will take the bus to go to work. His lawyer, Me Perioli, recalls that he has not been talked about since 2014.
The court does not order the detention requested by the prosecution. He condemns the forty-year-old to sixteen months in prison, eight months of which can be adjusted. The suspended party is subject to the obligations to treat himself, to compensate the police and to pass his license. However, he was forbidden to touch a steering wheel for three years. His vehicle was confiscated.
