Darmstadt (ots) – A defective gas boiler in Kiesbergstrasse triggered the use of the police, several ambulances and the Darmstadt fire brigade early on Wednesday morning (February 17th). The residents of an apartment in the apartment building had informed the emergency control center around 3:30 a.m. and complained of sudden nausea. After the emergency services rushed over and a carbon monoxide measurement, four family members were able to determine increased carbon monoxide values. After receiving initial medical attention on site, the people affected were taken to a hospital for further clarification. The gas boiler in the apartment was disconnected by the fire brigade to further avert danger and an inspection and repair was commissioned for today. For the precautionary inspection of the remaining gas boilers in the neighboring apartments, their residents had to leave them at short notice. However, after the fire brigade had released them and the measures were completed, they were allowed to return quickly to their rooms.
