[2막 2장] Who is the boss behind Vulkan?
Ares’ boss battles are generally difficult, requiring not only specifications but also control elements through suit changes, avoidance, and defense. Conversely, even if the specs are low, there are areas that can be overcome to some extent with control, so even with no charge, you can proceed with the quest without any obstruction.

but [2막 2장] 4. After proceeding to the background, the story is a little different. This is because Vulkan, the boss of the quest, is difficult to respond to with quite a few specs or controls. Vulcan mainly uses a flamethrower attack, which not only has high damage, but also has a long range, short pre-delay, long duration, and fast rotation speed, making it very difficult to counter.

In addition, Vulkan appears with two grook shamans, monsters that use magic, and it regenerates when you defeat the gruk shaman, so it’s quite annoying. However, there is a time limit to take time to deal with them, and if you do not attack, Vulcan’s shield regenerates, so long-term battles are impossible.

The straight attack method is to deal with Vulkan after killing only one of the two surrounding monsters, the Grouk Shaman. This is because the grook shaman has the feature of summoning them again only when they both die. Also, since Vulkan has a mechanical shield, it is good to use a suit with a psionic shield.

However, even if you know this, it is almost impossible to block or avoid all attacks, so a certain level of defense is essential. In other words, it is called the wall of no charge because it is difficult to withstand with a B-class suit.

▲ Even assuming that you kill only one grook shaman first, clearing is not easy if the specs are low.

Let’s attack one-sidedly using terrain features! Vulcan Relativity
However, even if the specs are low, it is not impossible to deal with Vulkan. It is a one-sided attack using terrain features. It is a tactic that takes advantage of the fact that Vulcan’s flamethrower attack cannot inflict damage on characters in higher positions.

First, a warlock suit is recommended to use this method. It’s not impossible with other suits, but in terms of stability, the warlock suit with ranged attacks is the best. It doesn’t even have to be a high grade. C-rank is enough, so all you need is Lexa.P with a psionic shield. Of course, the higher-level suit is better.

However, even if you attack unilaterally, you cannot use suits and equipment that have not been developed. This is because Vulkan must be defeated within the time limit. You need to invest about level 20, and let’s strengthen your main and sub-weapons up to +7. Weapons sold in stores are sufficient, and the remaining weapons can be used for collection later. It is good to bring the necklaces, bracelets, and sacred objects that are being used in the main suit. You don’t have to raise skill levels.

▲ There is no need to invest a lot. Level 1 skill is enough for level 20 of C grade

Enter the quest battle, defeat the monsters up to the boss with the main suit, and then switch to the warlock suit. After moving to the place where Vulkan is summoned, immediately retreat and climb the slope. If you went up the slope right away, Vulkan and Grouk Shaman couldn’t go up the slope and would use meaningless attacks such as flamethrowers from below. If you park properly, you can unilaterally attack Vulcan with normal attacks and skills.

Note that, unlike Vulkan’s flamethrower attack, Grouk Shaman’s attack and Vulkan’s floor-type attack can be hit even if the character is in a higher position. Conversely, if it is too high, the character’s attack will not reach it. Therefore, you must attack while paying attention to the floor attack from a position that is neither too high nor too low.

In addition, Warlock’s normal attacks and skills have some advancement. If you keep attacking without thinking, you may fall off the ledge, so be careful not to fall and move backwards from time to time. If you use this method, you can easily catch Vulcan even with a slightly lower spec.
