Rans Cilegon FC promotion to Liga 1 2022 after win over PSIM Yogyakarta in the semifinals League 2 2021. Raffi Ahmad’s club won with a score of 3-0.
The match at Pakansari Stadium, Bogor Regency, Monday (27/12/2021), took place at a fast tempo. Both teams put on a determined game to win the match.
PSIM controlled the game in the first half, but struggled to create dangerous chances against Rans. On the other hand, Rans who rarely holds the ball even threatens PSIM’s goal.
PSIM player Achmad Subagja Baasith was the one who tried the most to kick off Rans’ goal. But the efforts of the player with the number 6 back always fail to meet the target.
Besides Baasith, Aditya Putra Dewa is also actively threatening Rans’ goal. But the Rans back line, which was raised by Hamka Hamzah, managed to block the PSIM players’ kicks many times.
As for Rans relying more on deadly counterattacks. Through this scheme, Rans almost opened the scoring through Muhammad Fadillah Akbar in the 32nd minute.
But Fadilla’s shot was blocked by PSIM goalkeeper Imam Arief Fadillah. Not long after, it was Rifal Lastori’s turn, whose kick was thwarted by Imam.
Disaster came for PSIM after Benny Wahyudi violated Jujun Junaidi in the forbidden box. The referee pointed to the white dot and Bima Ragil was successful in carrying out his duties well while bringing Rans ahead of PSIM 1-0 in the 42nd minute.
Entering the second half, the match turned to Rans. PSIM’s defense line was confused to withstand the attacks launched by the front lines of Rans.
PSIM almost equalized through Jodi Kustiawan’s header which welcomed Benny Wahyudi’s corner kick in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately his header can still be caught well by goalkeeper Rans Kurniawan Kartika Ajie.
Rans again almost scored through a counter-attack scheme in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, Rifal Lastori’s free-standing kick after receiving Muhammad Fadillah Akbar’s breakthrough bait even bounced far.
Alfin Tuasalamony doubled Rans’ lead to 2-0 in the 64th minute. The former Persija Jakarta player fired hard after receiving an assist from Cristian Gonzales from the counter-attack scheme.
Missing 2 goals made PSIM lose concentration so that they made a passing error. The ball was stolen by Rifal Lastori who then released a kick, but it was still off the mark.
Kurniawan Kartika Ajie became the hero of Rans by thwarting Aditya Putra Dewa’s measured free kick in the 76th minute. He successfully pushed the ball to the far post to keep Rans’ 2-0 lead over PSIM.
Cristian Gonzales gave Rans a 3-0 lead over PSIM with his header after using Rifal Lastori’s cross in the 80th minute. Game over for PSIM.
This score lasts until the referee ends the match. Rans also advanced to the final and was confirmed to win a promotion ticket to Liga 1 2022.
While PSIM still has a chance for promotion. They will face Martapura Dewa United or Persis Solo in the race for third place.
Dewa United and Persis will face off in the other semifinal after the Rans Vs PSIM match. This semifinal match will still be held at Pakansari Stadium, at 21.00 WIB.
