The course of the match
First round
As expected, the Dutch were able to dominate since the first half began. The Dutch continued to attack, but Norway looked ready and showed a solid defense.
The Netherlands tried to continue to increase the tempo of the game after the game lasted ten minutes. Norway also became increasingly difficult to keep the Dutch players who were able to appear faster than them.
Difficulty finding gaps due to the tight Norwegian defense, made the Dutch slightly lower the tempo. This is while looking for the right strategy to create the first goal in the match.
However, Norway is not without opportunities. Norway had several times tried to attack in the match.
However, there was no golden opportunity to be obtained and they were more focused on the defense line to maintain the enormity of the Dutch attack. It’s just that until the first half ended, no goals were created. The Netherlands also had to settle for playing with the score 0-0 at home to Norway.
Second round
The Dutch were still able to control the game in the second half. Der Oranje was able to appear more aggressive which was very difficult for the Norwegian players to stop in that match.
Memphis Depay and Denzel Dumfries continued to spearhead the Dutch to create chances. Both players are always able to spread threats to the Norwegian goal with extraordinary speed.
Several experiments were carried out by Norway to counterattack in order to surprise the hosts. However, all attacks were easily turned off by the Dutch back line who appeared very calm throughout the match.
After struggling hard, the Dutch were finally able to score their first goal in the match in the 84th minute after Steven Bergwijn was able to finish Danjuma Groeneveld’s pass beautifully.
In the 90+1 minute, the Dutch were able to double their advantage after Memphis Depay scored a second goal which was very difficult for Norway to block. The Netherlands also managed to get full points after winning with a score of 2-0.
