Defeat against Joventut Badalona and Bitci Baskonia finishes sixth in the regular league

Valencia Basket will be Barça’s rival in the Endesa League quarter-final tie.

Bitci Baskonia cannot beat Joventut Badalona led by Ribas and Tomic (81-89). Neven Spahija’s men finish in sixth place in the regular acb league and already know a rival for the quarterfinal tie: Valencia Basket. With 17 points, Wade Baldwin was the top Barça scorer.

In a good start, the azulgrana team took the first advantages in the light (16-12, minute 5). But soon Carles Duran’s men managed to reverse the situation and with a run of 0-9 they finished the first quarter with a five-point difference. Bitci Baskonia tried to react, but the dominance of the game was still Catalan (28-32). In a difficult end of the first half, Joventut Badalona achieved the maximum of the game with a lead of ten points (37-47).

After the break Neven Spahija’s men came out in good dynamics and managed to get within five points of the hand of Simone Fontecchio (53-58). But the lack of success once again made an appearance in the Vitorian squad and the difference remained at eight points with ten minutes to go (55-63). In the final stretch of the match, Bitci Baskonia tried to reduce differences in the light, but Joventut Badalona knew how to play his cards well in the final minutes to end up achieving a valuable victory (81-89).
