Mumbai: In Test cricket against Australia, Indian women have a first innings lead of 187 runs. India, who were 376 for the loss of seven wickets when play was stopped on the second day, lost the remaining three wickets while adding 30 more runs on the third morning. India were all out for 406 runs.
Australia’s first innings ended on 219 runs on the first day. All-rounder Deepti Sharma, who resumed batting with 70 runs in the morning on the third day, added 8 more runs. Pooja Vastrakar, who started with 33 runs, was bowled out for 47 runs. Earlier, Smriti Manthana (74), Jemima Rodrigues (73) and Richa Ghosh (52) scored half-centuries.
Ashley Gardner took four wickets for Australia. Kim Garth and Annabelle Sutherland took two wickets each while Jess Jonassen took the remaining wicket.
