Tangerang (ANTARA) – The Tangerang Regency Health Service (Dinkes), Banten recorded that 882 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) had been found in the area from January to September 2023.
Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division at the Tangerang Regency Health Office, Sumihar Sihaloho in Tangerang, Thursday, said that the number of hundreds of dengue fever cases had experienced a slight decrease compared to 2022, which reached 1,322 during the January to December period.
“It was recorded that from January to September 2023 there were 882 cases, whereas in 2022 from January to December there were only 1,322,” he said.

He said that dengue cases occurring in the Tangerang Regency area during the mid-2023 period were considered to have decreased compared to the total number in 2022.
According to him, cases of dengue fever caused by the Aedes aegypti mosquito have affected all ages, from children to the elderly.
“The age most affected by dengue fever cases is from 15 to 59 years old,” he said.
He reminded the local community to pay attention to the cleanliness of the surrounding environment, such as always checking water reservoirs that could harbor mosquito larvae and always implementing the 3M plus movement, namely draining water reservoirs, closing water reservoirs and burying items that could become puddles of water.
“We urge members of the public to check the larvae of each house (one house, one jumantik) to reduce dengue fever cases,” he said.
