JAKARTA (ANTARA) – The South Jakarta City Health Service (Dinkes) reported that the number of visits by Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) sufferers to community health centers in September 2023 decreased from 46,690 patients to 44,522 people.
“The number of visits in the August period was 46,690, this number decreased by 0.9 percent from September to 44,522 patients,” said Head of the South Jakarta Health Service, Yudi Dimyati, when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta, Monday.
Yudi Dimyati detailed that in the September period the largest number of ISPA sufferers were in the 9-60 year age group with 24,213, followed by 0-5 year olds with 10,045, then 5-9 year olds with 7,362 patients.
“Then the fewest were 2,903 patients aged 60 years and over,” he said.
Yudi also said that the community health center in South Jakarta that received the most ISPA patients in September was the Kebayoran Lama Community Health Center, with 12,306 patients.
Regarding the still high number of ISPA sufferers, Yudi appealed to the public to reduce outdoor activities to reduce exposure to pollution.
“In the meantime, if you are going to do outdoor activities, you have to wear a mask. It is also important to maintain your health and immunity by adopting a clean and healthy lifestyle, and most importantly increasing your consumption of vegetables and fruit,” he said.
Apart from that, Yudi also appealed to people to do exercise to maintain body fitness, but in conditions like this it is better to do it indoors and avoid exercising outdoors.
Then, if people experience complaints about breathing, immediately consult a health worker.
