From Monday, masks for everyone! Well almost. They will be available for the cantonal and communal public and parapublic sector. In addition to the masks, the State distributes hydroalcoholic solutions and plexiglass panes to all entities that request them.
“Hand hygiene and distance are always essential protective measures and obviously remain valid,” insists Béatrice Métraux, the Minister of Safety and the Environment. The masks must be used when the distances cannot be respected during the activity, that is to say when two people are within two meters for more than fifteen minutes. “
Cash register restriction
What is the exact state of stocks? Chief of Staff Denis Froidevaux does not put a figure on it: “The current stock allows us to face the first wave of requests from the Canton and the Communes, which should take place next week. We are constantly looking to acquire them. A problem that will certainly arise is that the demand of the population will exceed the capacity of large distributors. If necessary, we will also be able to supply their stocks to entrust them with the sale of these masks. ”
The state can also provide masks to a company that can prove that it failed to do so. Everyone can buy a maximum of 50 masks per day in shops: a new cantonal rule to avoid excessive stocks.
“All economic activities must have a health protection plan”, summarizes Philippe Leuba, Minister of the Economy, then adds: “It is up to each employer to draw up this plan which must comply with the OFSP measures.” And these plans are not subject to validation by the Confederation or the Cantons. For controls, his department is in charge. As was already the case for site and industry controls. Designed to protect customers, employees and the most vulnerable, these plans must follow the model set up by SECO and OFSP.
New developments in screening are announced by the Minister of Health, Rebecca Ruiz. Since April 22, the Confederation has extended the access criteria. If you have “acute respiratory symptoms”, with or without fever, you are eligible for screening. Ditto if you lose your sense of smell and taste or if you have muscle pain.
The method? Go through www.coronacheck.ch and refer, if necessary, to his doctor or to a screening center. Negative results are notified by SMS while a positive person is contacted by phone. Be careful not to confuse these smears with the serological examination via a blood test, which is used to find out if you have been infected in the past.
