CELEBRITIESDeclyn Lauper (26) was arrested after a shooting in New York. The son of singer Cyndi Lauper (70) was in possession of a weapon. He pleaded not guilty and was released on bail on Friday.
A 24-year-old man was shot in the leg last Wednesday and taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital in stable condition. The ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ singer’s son was near the incident and was in possession of a weapon. According to the indictment, which was obtained by the New York Daily News, Declyn allegedly intended to use the gun.
Declyn was charged with criminal possession of a firearm and was released Friday after posting $20,000 bail. That same day he appeared in court in Manhattan, where he pleaded not guilty. He is due to appear in court again on Tuesday.

It is not the first time that Cyndi Lauper’s only child has been in trouble with the police. He was arrested in 2022 after officers found him in a stolen car. Declyn pleaded guilty in Manhattan District Court at the time and “had to stay out of trouble for a year.”
