Kirtorf (sfn). The Kirtorf local association of the German Red Cross called for blood donations for the third time this year. 86 women and men responded to the call for blood donation. In doing so, they took advantage of the opportunity to contribute to maintaining the supply of blood and blood products to hospitals.
The number of participants did not quite meet the expectations of the DRK local association in Kirtorf, which had hoped for a larger response. However, two first-time donors were perceived as positive.
Ten long-time blood donors were honored for their commitment to date. These were Markus Waterkamp and Jan Mika Salzmann (both Kirtorf) for ten blood donations each. Bernd Dietz (Homberg). Armin Jänsch (Homberg) completed her 15th blood donation. Bettina Schlitt (Antrifttal) was able to provide her blood for the 20th time. Friedrich Plitzko (Homberg) made the 35th donation. Christian Schmidt (Romrod) was able to donate his 40th blood. Hiltrud Schneider (Kirtorf) and Martin Altenbrand (Antrifttal) were allowed to donate blood for their 50th each. Heinz-Willi Killer (Kirtorf) made his 80th blood donation.
Other long-time blood donors with donor numbers over one hundred were at this appointment: Klaus Sprankel (112), Klaus Zarges-Graf (132) and Jürgen Geißler (133).
However, all blood donors deserve recognition and thanks from the blood donation service and the DRK Kirtorf and, last but not least, the affected patients. All blood donations are equally valuable and demonstrate a high sense of responsibility on the part of the donors for their fellow citizens.
The chairwoman of the DRK Kirtorf Elke Schneider thanked the donors for their willingness and expressed the hope that all donors and many other fellow citizens would be able to come together to donate blood at the next appointment, on Friday, December 27th.
