Declared dead, a baby found alive in a box!

While we have not yet finished discussing the Astou Sokhna case named after the young woman who died in childbirth a few weeks ago at the maternity department of the Amadou Sakhir Mbaye regional hospital in Louga, another case, involving health structures, is making headlines in Kaolack. Indeed, a baby just over a week old was declared dead at El Hadj Ibrahima Niass hospital, but, according to his parents, he was found alive.

His father, Al Hassan Diallo, returns to the facts. “I had taken my sick child to the hospital. This Friday morning, I was told that he was in critical condition, because the disease reached the brain. I was then told that he had passed away. When I went to the morgue, the baby wasn’t there yet, it was wrapped in a box. But he cried when we touched him. We then realized that he was still alive, ”he said in particular on Walf Tv, brandishing a death certificate which has already been issued to him.

This is how the infant was again interned in the pediatric department of the said hospital to continue his treatment as his parents wished.

Contacted by Seneweb, this native of the village of Likem confirms the information, recalling that the child was born at the Wardiakhal health post. “Sick, we were asked to evacuate him to the El Hadj Ibrahima Niass regional hospital,” said Mr. Diallo during a telephone interview.

Moved, his mother Diary Sow, also reached on the phone, believes that her son Souleymane Diallo “was wrapped in a box with his diaper and infusion equipment”.

However, it will not survive, unfortunately. “Around 10 p.m., we were called again to let us know that he finally passed away. I came to certify his death, ”added his father.

Moreover, the Diallo family has already taken the case to court so that it can be clarified. “I filed a complaint with the police before contacting the journalists to inform national opinion, because I don’t understand anything about it,” his father tells us on the phone.

In the meantime, baby Souleymane is buried this Saturday around 10 a.m. in his native village, according to Al Hassan Diallo.

On the side of the hospital, our informant reports that officials reacted to this situation, which began to make noise in the capital of Saloum. While waiting to return to this statement, we are told that she speaks of “cardiac arrest”.
