One explains the suspected cases of Corona aid BMWi-Speaker:
- The advance payments for the Corona aid programs will be resumed today. These had to be stopped at short notice due to cases of fraud. The regular payouts were never interrupted. This ensures that all payments are made again in full from today.
- The short-term interruption of the advance payments was legally required and necessary in order to be able to communicate with the criminal investigation authorities, but also with the BSI and the Federal Ministry of Finance to check irregularities and take precautions to prevent such fraud attempts from being repeated in the future.
- As of this morning, there have been around 9.6 since November 2020 Billion Euros transferred to help those affected. With the November and December aid, 96 percent of the advance payments are already in the accounts of the recipients. The rest of the November and December aid will now be paid out by the federal states. The regular disbursement process has been with the November aid since January 12th, 2021 and with the federal states since February 1st, 2021 with the December aid. As of this morning, 88,913 applications with a volume of 528 million euros were submitted for the restart aid. 493 million euros and thus almost 94 percent of the requested sum have already been paid out here as well.
