WHAT HAPPENED? England international Declan Rice proved his worth after starring in Arsenal’s 5-0 win over the MLS All-Stars, which was their first friendly in the United States.
DC United coach Wayne Rooney, who leads the MLS team, was impressed with Rice and backed him to become a “big player” at the Emirates.
HE IS THE LEADER: “I think being able to be the guy who can… well, he has to be the leader now, really, I think about that Arsenal team,” he told Press Association.
“I understand Frank Lampard said he felt Declan could captain Chelsea for the next 10 years if he went there. I think he could do that [untuk Arsenal]and he seems to have that character and I’m sure he will be a big player for Arsenal,” he added.
SUPPORTED BY WENGER: Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has also backed Rice and confirmed that Arsenal have the potential to win the 2023/24 Premier League after landing the midfielder.
The Gunners have revamped their squad and have also signed big players like Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber as well as the 24 year old.
