Declan Rice disclose, Mikel Arteta was the main reason for choosing to join Arsenal. The England national team midfielder really performed well at the start of this season.
Rice was recruited by Arsenal after agreeing a transfer with West Ham worth 105 million pounds sterling. The 24 year old player landed in North London after rejecting offers from defending champions Manchester City and Chelsea.
Under Arteta, Declan Rice almost played the full game in each of the Gunners’ first five domestic games. Rice has helped Arsenal go unbeaten by winning four wins, including beating Man City to lift the 2023 Community Shield trophy.
Rice contributed one goal for Arsenal in their 3-1 win over Manchester United before the international break.
Rice believes that his decision to choose the London Cannon was the right one. Rice feels that Arteta’s playing style is very suitable for him.
“I have to say the manager, Mikel,” he said Channel 4, quoted Metro. “I think from the first moment I met him, I knew that I wanted him to take me to the next level of my career.”
“The way he talks, the aura he has, the way he looks at the game, the way he talks about how to play football, and I think we saw the way Arsenal played in the last two years, the way they play as a team that I really feel like fits in there.”
“So far the decision has paid off. I feel like I’m at home. I always had the feeling that Arsenal would be my club from the start,” said directly Declan Rice.
