Declan Rice, who on Saturday (15/7) finally made his move to Arsenal and made the record for the most expensive English player ever (£105m), could very well have joined Chelsea – sadly The Blues twice let it go, and now it is in the hands of their city rivals.

Earlier this July, Lampard spoke on Diary of a CEO podcastand said: “When I was at Chelsea before, I wanted to sign Declan Rice. I thought: ‘This kid is going to be Chelsea captain for the next 10 years’.”

THE SITUATION:

After collapsing and failing to win the English Premier League last season, Arsenal went straight all out on the transfer market. Rice became the third recruit The Gunners in the summer having brought in Kai Havertz from Chelsea and Jurrien Timber from Ajax.
