Would you rather pay off or speculate?

Anyone who prefers to invest in stocks instead of paying off a loan is considered greedy. This archaic greed for reward can be satisfied with money, coke or sex. However, as we get older, the longing for peace and quiet often grows.
Whe defeats whom, dear investors, when it comes to money? Do you think greed is more powerful? Or are you more of the opinion that fear overwhelms greed? If you are not (completely) sure, then please study today’s case – in my opinion, a “harmless” thing from the life of a homeowner.
The gentleman is 50 years old and built a house ten years ago, when the world was still in order. The good piece cost 800,000 euros and is now “easily” worth a million. Years ago the man had around 200,000 euros in his pocket, so a loan of 600,000 euros was necessary. The annual nominal interest rate of 2.75 percent was agreed for ten years. As a result, negotiations are underway as to how the contract should proceed.
