Last December in La Rioja was very warm in temperatures, more than 2.2 degrees above the average, and humid in rainfall, according to the first data from the Climatological Advance of the community, which has been released by the State Agency of Meteorology (Aemet).

According to this part, in general terms, last December had a very warm behavior for the entire community, especially in La Rioja Alta.

The observed anomalies oscillated between values ​​of +1.2 degrees in Alfaro and Calahorra, and +3.5 degrees in the Mansilla reservoir, with a regional average of +2.2 degrees, compared to the normal averages for this month. for the reference period 1981-2010.

In this way, the month of December of last year ranked second in the ranking between the years 1961-2022, after 1989, which had an anomaly of +3 degrees.

In the case of Logroño-Agoncillo, the normal value for December is 6.4 degrees, while in the month of December 2022, the average value has been 8.2 degrees, so the anomaly has been + 1.8 degrees, and the character, very warm.

Regarding rainfall, the rainfall behavior in December was generally wet for practically the entire community of La Rioja.

In this way, the regional percentage of precipitation averaged 129 percent with respect to the normal reference values, which for this month is an average precipitation of 53.3 mm. The distribution of percentages oscillated between values ​​of 98 percent for Arnedo and 133 percent for Logroño-Aeropuerto.

Specifically, in the case of Logroño-Agoncillo, the normal value for the month is 37.6 mm, while last December the average value was 49.9 mm, which is an anomaly. of +12.3 mm and a percentage of 133 percent, with which the character of last month was wet.
