After two years with the trace of mold, absence of plaster borders, uncorking on the walls and paint falling, the House of the Young Creator of Sancti Spíritus has opened its doors with new colors and a youthful atmosphere.

“The reconstructive work is not yet fully completed, but we can already work to make it once again the safe blanket of our avant-garde art,” he told Escambray Alexander Hernández Chang, president of the provincial branch of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS).

This very weekly newspaper echoed the much carried and brought analysis and budget adjustments to remove the property from the deplorable situation, located on Céspedes Norte street, between Comandante Fajardo and Frank País, in the city of Yayabo. However, today his fate is different and it is in the hands of the collective of more than 100 associates, who will be able to dream from within, how to revitalize the cultural programming of the old city.

The first step was taken this Friday with all the hype and cymbals when hosting the exhibition Temptation, composed of 10 works by the artist Mayday Machado, who once again summons us to reflect from eroticism not only on human bodies, but on different objects with which she converges on a daily basis.

The meeting transcended the enriching dialogue with each of the pieces shown in the main room of the house by being able to learn, through the Open Circle project, one of the new proposals of the House of the Young Creator that it intends to reveal, both in the physical space and virtual, interiors of the work of visual artists who share their creations on the walls smelling of fresh paint.

And like all celebrations, music and recognition were also present in a festive day that took as a pretext the most anticipated month by the members of the AHS in Espirituan properties.

“The epidemiological situation in the province made it impossible for this year to be able to hold the long-awaited Lunas de Invierno street art event, a true festival that makes Sancti Spíritus the epicenter of this type of art in the country, since projects of almost All the island. However, we did not want to leave it in oblivion and the provincial executive, under the name of the Winter Moon Art Day, decided to put proposals sent by several friends of the appointment in the social networks and take advantage of the programming of different institutions, all with the in order to avoid crowds of people ”, explains Lil Laura Castillo, vice president of the organization.

That is why on YouTube and Facebook social networks you can enjoy lectures by the Formar ciudad project: interactive spaces, by the Provincial Committee of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac) and the AHS affiliate; plays and rock concerts with spirits chords, fusion music, by Matices, made up of new Trinidadian creators, and traditional dance music, thanks to the incomparable measures of the OrquestaFaílde.

“At different times they will be shared on the Internet to, in this way, open the audience’s pitch. In addition to the fact that at the Jatibonico and Trinidad venues, cultural actions will also take place during these days starring our members ”, adds the president of the AHS in Sancti Spíritus.

In the midst of this hubbub, one of the most anticipated moments was the premiere of the documentary Youth teacher, produced by a team of associates, where for the first time the history of the organization in Sancti Spíritus is collected in an audiovisual material.

“Its greatest merit is that it is told by several of the protagonists of the 34 years of life of the AHS. Its viewing was reserved for the month of October, the date the organization celebrates its anniversary, but the outbreak of COVID-19 prevented us from doing so, ”says Hernández Chang, who conceived that idea.

The Main Theater was precisely the space chosen to commemorate that past that lives present among those who pass through young Cuban art. At that meeting it was learned that the organization from Spiritus has new Members of Honor: Dalila León, Manuel González Busto, Wilfredo Prieto, Yudit Vidal Faife and Yosvel Martínez Narváez.

“As in October the maxim was to be at home, we also took advantage of this month of December to deliver the card to new members, all artists committed to promoting the thinking and aesthetics of our culture,” insists Lil Laura Castillo.

Among the other joys generated by the Spirituan subsidiary was the II edition of the Scientific Community of Young Researchers Event, an original idea of the Critics and Research section.

“We did it through a WhatsApp group, made up of lovers of constant study from five provinces of the country, who followed the valid opinions on how to write the essay genre and how to manage its positioning, thanks to the knowledge of professor Anette María Jiménez Marata, researcher at the Juan Marinello Cuban Institute for Cultural Research, in Havana, ”says Liset López Francisco, heading the referred section.

Likewise, the cool temperatures of this month went down, during the presentation of the second musical production of Katarziz. What are we talking about? It is now a novelty for rock lovers.

“It was mainly done while we were supposed to be at home because of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It is composed of seven songs of our authorship and a version of one of Pablo Milanés’s songs. It is diverse like life itself, as you find lyrics about love, heartbreak, social criticism… Thanks to technologies, it has collaborations with artists residing in Panama, Costa Rica, Uruguay and Spain. Since June it has been circulating on different digital platforms ”, says Leonardo Álvarez Cañizares, leader of the band.

Each of these proposals is an example of the drive and commitment to their creations that the less experienced in the artistic world share with their audiences this December.

“Our challenge is to function better from the institution to reach each of our associates and achieve projects with which they feel identified, as well as to remain, as it has always been, at the forefront of a revolutionary process that assumes Cuban culture as a shield. and sword of the nation ”, concludes Hernández Chang.
