OBORMOTINDOK.CO.ID – Saturday, December 4, 2021, there will be a total solar eclipse. This phenomenon can be observed via YouTube NASA Live at 13.30 WIB.
This eclipse occurs when the moon is between the earth and the sun in a straight line, thus casting a shadow on the earth.
Given the small diameter of the moon and its considerable distance from the earth, the path of a total solar eclipse becomes very narrow when it is on the earth’s surface.
Therefore, only the region where the eclipse path passes can see this phenomenon.
According to LAPAN, Indonesia will not be able to observe the total solar eclipse on December 4, 2021, because the path of the eclipse is not traversed.
The path of the total eclipse of 100 percent will only cross the continent of Antarctica.
according to Info AstronomyThe regions that can observe this eclipse include South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands (97 percent), Saint Helena (52 percent), New Zealand (46 percent), Australia (43 percent), the Falkland Islands (28 percent), Argentina ( 20 percent), Chile (19 percent), South Africa (11 percent), and Namibia (5 percent).
In that area, the eclipse will take place starting at 10:59 WIB.
The full eclipse will be visible at around 12:30 WIB and will end at 15:07 WIB.
Apart from the areas mentioned above, there is no chance to see this eclipse.
Even so, NASA will broadcast the phenomenon live from Union Glacier, Antarctica, via the NASA Live YouTube channel.
This broadcast will start at 13:30 WIB. LAPAN said that this eclipse will be the 13th eclipse of 70 eclipses in the 152nd saros series.
This series eclipse took place November 23, 2003 and will occur again on December 15, 2039 and December 26, 2057. *
