The police found the body of a 35-year-old woman from Amsterdam in the Spaarnwoude recreation area on Wednesday. A 40-year-old Amsterdammer has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in her death.

In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the police received a report of a missing person around 2.30 am. A search was then launched in the recreation area. The deceased woman was found by officers around 1:30 p.m.
“The detectives are investigating the cause of death and currently assume that the woman died as a result of a crime,” the police said. “It is still unclear what exactly happened. The police are investigating it.”
The suspect is still in custody and will be presented to the examining magistrate tomorrow. The suspect is in restraints. This means that he is only allowed to have contact with his lawyer.
