The second Aveyron terminal on the World Road n ° 1 has been set up in the Bouillac motorhome area.
When tourism and fraternity mix, this results in the establishment of the World Route No. 1 terminal in Bouillac, on the motorhome area, at the entrance to the town, a veritable gateway to the Aveyron on the valley. of the Lot.
This idea of a world route comes from an aviator who participated in the total destruction of the German city of Königswinter during the Second World War. To prevent other traumas from being perpetuated, he launched the idea of a pacifist movement which would materialize through the creation of Citizens of the World. An initiative supported by the United Nations as well as by the intellectual Jean-Paul Sartre and Abbé Pierre. The citizens of the world claim a planet without borders, governed by a world law, while promoting peace and brotherhood. They also have their own identity card.
The city of Cahors, in the Lot, is the first to sign the globalization charter and to declare itself a world city. In 1950, it inaugurated the road without borders which symbolically connects Cahors to Figeac, the road then having to cross the world and reach Berlin, China, Japan and the United States. Seduced by this idea while passing through Cahors during a cycling trip, an elected representative of a municipality in southern Aveyron, Jean-Marie Azaïs, decides to materialize this route, in his municipality of Hospitalet-du-Larzac, by the establishment of a first Aveyron terminal, 71 years after that of Cahors. And it is also under his impetus that the elected officials of Bouillac, decide to do the same on July 26th. On this red and white terminal, a QR code also allows you to know all the tourist and practical information in real time of the territory. “The idea is that people sit down and take advantage of the place. We know the road to Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle. Why not this variant which would present a big economic attraction”, ignites Magali Soubiroux, director of the tourist office of Decazeville community. The official inauguration of this terminal will take place during the month of September.
