Since the closure of the Decazeville maternity ward at the end of 2016, it is not uncommon for babies to be born in the emergency room of the Decazeville hospital, or even on the 40 km road to travel to reach the maternity ward of the Rodez hospital or that of the Villefranche-de-Rouergue hospital.
At the beginning of February, a baby was almost born in the emergency room of the Decazeville hospital but was finally able to “hold” until Rodez, the mother having been accompanied by the Smur.
But on the night of Saturday 27 to Sunday 28 February, little Khaled, whose pregnant mother was followed by the Decazeville perinatal center and the maternity ward of the Rodez hospital, was in a hurry to see the light of day and to enlarge his siblings already strong of 5 children.
The Decazevillois parents called the Smur but it was already too late to leave for Rodez. Khaled was born in the Decazeville emergency room, under the care of the doctor and head of department Franck Becker. A beautiful 3.4 kg baby.
The mother and the baby are well, they were then taken by the Smur to the maternity ward of the Rodez hospital.
“Emergency personnel are trained by the matermip network in childbirth procedures in emergency situations. Everything went well”, emphasizes Franck Becker.
Congratulations to the parents and long life to Khaled.
