Despite several constraints, the volunteer blood donors are satisfied with their collection in Decazeville. Others are planned in the area.
The Decazeville and Region Volunteer Blood Donors Association would like to sincerely thank the 158 donors, including 11 new donors, who came to the Léo Lagrange gymnasium at the Découverte high school in Decazeville on 30 and 31 July to donate their blood.
“They made the effort to travel despite the intense heat, the change of location of the donation, the holidays and the television appeal of the Olympic Games. We congratulate them!” exclaims Michel Névoltris, the president of the Departmental Union (UD 12) of volunteer blood donors of Aveyron. “This generous and altruistic gesture will help treat serious illnesses, save lives and give hope to the families of the sick and those who have had accidents or road accidents.”
But every drop still counts! All blood types can be collected and if you have never donated blood before, your type will be determined at this time.
Next collections
The next collections concerning our territory, organized by the Blood Donors with the French Blood Establishment of Rodez, will take place in Almont-les-Junies, on Tuesday, August 6, from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; in Montbazens, on Wednesday, August 7, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.; in Rignac, on Thursday, August 22, from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
“Talk about it around you, people likely to give could also get involved in this act of solidarity which only takes a few minutes. You can make an appointment on the site mon-rdv-dondesang.efs.sante.fr but people without an appointment will also be welcome,” conclude the UD12 managers.
