Decathlon to sell NBA items

The sporting goods chain Decathlon has become an official ‘partner’ of the NBA after signing a multi-year marketing agreement with the American professional basketball league NBA. The agreement will allow the French group to sell a new collection of thermal jerseys, accessories and footwear for the NBA and the league’s teams, items that will be designed by Decathlon and marketed under its Tarmak basketball brand.

The collection will be sold exclusively in more than 1,200 Decathlon stores worldwide and on the Decathlon.com online store. The products will be available in pre-order starting next March, before the official launch in store in April.

Through this partnership, NBA fans and basketball players around the world will have access to exciting and innovative range of products to help them get into the game, “explained NBA EME Director of Global Partnerships Steve Griffiths in a statement.

Decathlon director Damien Dezitter acknowledged that they had always had the “dream of collaborating with the NBA.” “We have a common goal in the development of basketball around the world, so the natural thing is to work together to make it possible,” he added.
