The famous sports equipment retailer Decathlon is changing and joining modern trends. For example, it has launched an interesting campaign abroad, which may eventually reach the Czech Republic as well.
Focus on used
Decathlon has renamed many of its stores to Nolhtaced which has caused a stir in some localities. The hard-to-pronounce name didn’t make much sense at first, but then people noticed it was the same name, just backwards.
Later, it turned out that the renaming would not be so hot. It’s just an activity within this campaign, but it brings with it a much more important change, or something new if you like.
Decathlon wants to focus primarily on second-hand sales. Therefore, start buying used sports clothing and equipment from customers. This will then be cleaned and repaired at your own expense so that it is once again a quality product that will arouse the interest of other customers. It will offer them these products at a greatly reduced price.
With this step, Decathlon wants to avoid unnecessary waste of goods that could still be useful to someone. Of course, this is also an ecological burden, because sports clothing and equipment consist of many different materials, the recycling of which we are not yet very ready for. At the same time, families who are affected by the price increase and cannot buy products at full price can be helped in this way.
There are also possibilities in the Czech Republic
For now, Decathlon organizes these purchases and subsequent sales as limited-time events, but it is possible that one day they will become a permanent part. After all, they are also tested in the Czech Republic. In winter, in the stores of this chain it was possible to bring winter boots, which Decathlon bought and then resold. It has been met with a significant response, especially among parents whose young children change shoes frequently.
A popular section in the Decathlon online store is also the one labeled Back in the Game. In it you will find products that have been returned or that come from the exhibition. They are usually only slightly worn or have some small flaws that do not affect their functionality. However, they are sold at very attractive prices, even half. This way you can save thousands of crowns on more expensive things.
