Decaf coffee has recently been chosen by many young people for daily consumption. A study shows why young people prefer decaf coffee.

Decaf coffee is known as a coffee blend without caffeine. Even though it is without caffeine, the taste of this coffee is not much different from types of coffee that contain caffeine.

Reporting from Khou11 (6/10), a new survey from Swiss Water shows that many millennials and Gen Z are switching from caffeinated drinks. They prefer morning drinks without caffeine, for example decaf coffee.

According to Market Research Future, which conducted research on trends in the coffee market, consumers are currently looking for ways to reduce caffeine for health reasons. This has led several major coffee brands to increase their decaffeinated products.

However, is it true that decaffeinated coffee is healthier than regular coffee?

For the record, decaf coffee is not completely caffeine-free, but it still contains a small amount of caffeine. While regular black coffee contains around 2 milligrams of caffeine per glass, decaf coffee contains much less.

According to the USDA, an 8-ounce (236 ml) cup of coffee contains about two milligrams of caffeine. In fact, if consumed within reasonable limits, there is no problem consuming regular coffee.

According to UCLA Health, the benefits of drinking coffee include a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes, several neurogenerative diseases, and cognitive decline. That’s all thanks to the organic compounds and antioxidants found in caffeinated and decaffeinated (decaf) versions of coffee.

This decaf coffee is also good for those who are intolerant to caffeine. By consuming decaf coffee, you will not experience side effects such as stomach aches that are usually encountered.

Apart from warm decaf coffee blends, this type of coffee can also be made into cold brew. How do you mix cold brew with decaf coffee?

To make cold brew without caffeine, combine a cup of coffee grounds (decaf) with four cups of cold water in a container. Stir or shake to combine.

Then, close the jar or drinker and place the coffee concoction in the refrigerator for between 12-24 hours.
