Debuts the Nokia G21 – NapiDroid

The Nokia G21 debuted last year G20 its successor with a number of improvements made by the manufacturer, including the display, battery and camera. The device boasts, among other things, a 90 Hz screen, a 50-megapixel primary camera, and a battery that lasts up to three days.

Let’s start with the screen! The display is a 6.5-inch LCD panel that now supports a 90 Hz refresh rate, although the resolution remains HD +. To achieve the three-day operating time already mentioned in the introduction, the so-called “adaptive mode” must be activated, which reduces the image refresh rate to 60 Hz in situations where an elevated frequency is not required. The Nokia G21 already supports HD streaming of Netflix content.

Under the cover of the smartphone, the Unisoc T606 chipset serves as a 12-nanometer CPU with two Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores, as well as a Mali G57 MP1 graphics accelerator. Unfortunately, 5G support is not available, if you choose the Nokia G21, you will need a Cat. 4 LTE modem.

The chipset comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage, depending on the package you choose. It is commendable that this dual SIM device has a separate micro SD slot so you can enjoy the benefits of extra networking and increased storage at the same time.

The Nokia G21 has a new primary image capture module that boasts a resolution of 50 megapixels instead of the previous 48. Next to the main sensor is a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The front panel camera takes photos at 8 megapixels, otherwise it is home to a drop-shaped sensor island at the top of the screen. The Nokia G21’s camera software has got some extra modes, including night photography and a detail-focused Super Resolution feature.

The novelty is powered by a 5050 mAh battery. The manufacturer has also improved energy-saving modes, which reduce the performance of the device less. The first level of battery saving mode is activated at 20 percent charge, and the second when only 10 percent is available. The maximum charging speed supported is 18 watts, but only a 10-watt adapter is included in the mobile box.

Although the Nokia G21 comes with Android 11, it will soon receive an Android 12 update. In line with the usual software support schedule, the new feature is now available with two full system versions and three years of security patching. A headphone output and a side-frame fingerprint reader complete the list of specifications worth mentioning.

The Nokia G21 will be available in shades of blue and gray for 170 euros, or about 60,000 forints. Deliveries are expected to begin around March 14th.
