The arrival of Luca de Meo to the position of managing director of Renault was made official at the end of January. But the Italian could not take his duties before 1 July, to observe a period of non-competition agreement between Renault and the Volkswagen group. Renault wants to reduce its fixed costs by more than two billion euros within three years. The 15,000 job cuts are planned, 4 of which 600 in France.
