Debris of plane crash into residential areas near American city Denver | NOW

Parts of an airplane have crashed in several residential areas not far from the American city of Denver in the state of Colorado. No one on the plane or on the ground would have been injured.

The plane, a Boeing 777-200 with 231 passengers and ten crew members on board, has landed safely at Denver International Airport, according to the police.

According to the FAA, the right engine of the 26-year-old plane failed shortly after takeoff from Denver. The United Airlines Boeing 777 was on its way to Honolulu. The incident is being investigated by the FAA and the US NTSB Investigation Board.

Police photos showed that a large lump stick had ended up in the front yard of a house. Other parts ended up on a sports field. “If you find debris, do not touch or move it. The NTSB wants all the debris to remain in place for investigation,” the police tweeted.

Another Boeing aircraft, a cargo plane from the Longtail Aviation company, lost debris over Meerssen in Limburg on Saturday. Immediately after take-off from Maastricht Aachen Airport, an engine fire started. The debris caused damage to cars and houses. A woman and a child were slightly injured. The aircraft flew on three engines and landed in Liege, Belgium.
