Louis Vicedo Dones, tattoo artist from Draguignan, in the Var, will not regret having taken the plane for a second participation in the Deauville tattoo festival Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 August 2021 to Deauville International Center (Calvados).
This time, he came with one of his regulars, Jérôme Gay, 28, whose tattoos he has done almost, big color pieces, realistic portraits with references to pop culture.
Visitors to the Deauville tattoo festival on Saturday and Sunday were able to see the new work that stretches along Jérôme’s right leg evolve in twenty hours.
Fans of the hero Batman will have recognized the Batman and, above, the Penguin, one of his most famous antagonists. These characters from Gotham are added to other universes: The Mask, Hades from the animated feature Hercules, the villainous Frieza from the manga Dragon Ball.
“We get along well on the themes, he leaves me quite free on the realization and that makes beautiful things”, summarizes the tattoo artist who generally takes six hours maximum in his store for a tattoo.
A jury called on to designate the most beautiful tattoos
Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m., many tattooed people marched, each in turn, under the eyes of the jurors, attentive to the finishes of each tattoo. Back, torso, leg, arms, buttock… the locations were varied. Several categories have followed one another. They were punctuated by the proclamation of the results and by a presentation of prizes in the presence of the artists concerned.
For Louis Vicedo Dones, a tattoo convention is “a real challenge” which allows “to show the best of oneself”. Chance of the calendar, it was Sunday, August 22 his 34th birthday.
In addition to a fine mark of professional recognition by the first prize “Best of show” of the Deauville tattoo show, he left with several gifts, just like Jérôme.
