Cases of death due to Mpox or monkey pox are getting crazier. Across Africa, more than 800 people have died from the disease.
The African Union Center for Disease Control (CDC) announced a report on the matter on October 3. The CDC also said that the epidemic was getting out of control.
There have been 34,297 Mpox cases across Africa since January, including 38 cases in Ghana. The number of African countries that reported Mpox cases in 2024 continues to increase.

“This epidemic is not under control,” said Dr. Jean Kaseya, head of the African CDC, in a press conference, adding that the number of deaths since the beginning of the year is 866, as reported by detikHealth from The Strait News.
It is also thought that the rate of testing for this disease is relatively low. At least 2,500 new cases were found last week. This means that the actual number of cases may be higher than currently reported.
At the same time, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) announced that vaccination would be carried out in the region that was at the heart of the revolution in the next two days.
Mpox is caused by a virus that is transmitted from animals to humans. This disease can be transmitted from person to person through close physical contact.
This disease causes fever, muscle aches and large skin lesions such as boils, and can be fatal.
